We’ve all said it: “I’m too busy to post.” “Too busy to follow up.” But let’s be honest—you’re not too busy. You’re avoiding visibility.


You reply to clients at 11 p.m., scroll on Instagram during lunch, and rewatch your own Stories. It’s not about time. It’s about discomfort.


You’re Not Too Busy — You’re Hiding (And It’s Costing You Leads)


We’ve all done it: told ourselves we’re just too busy to post on social, to follow up with a past client, or to finally send that newsletter. But here’s the truth: you’re not too busy—you’re hiding.


You say you don’t have time, but you’re replying to clients at 11 p.m., scrolling on Instagram while hiding in the bathroom, or rewatching your own Stories five times hoping someone noticed. Been there, done that. But let’s be honest—it’s not about time. It’s about discomfort.


Because visibility? It’s not hard—but it is uncomfortable. Especially for service-based business owners. The real problem isn’t your schedule. It’s the stories you’re telling yourself about why you’re not showing up.


When you peel it back, "busy" often means:

  • I don’t know what to say

  • I’m afraid I’ll be ignored

  • I don’t want to annoy anyone


You’re not drowning in work. You’re drowning in hesitation. But clients don’t hire the most qualified—they hire the most visible. The ones who stay top of mind.


Being visible can be simple:

  • Send a DM

  • Post a quick Story

  • Reach out to a past client


It’s not about perfection. It’s about presence.


What do I do? I write one short email a day. Not because I have time—but because I want to stay top of mind. Visibility isn’t a strategy. It’s a practice.


So let this be your nudge: You’re not lazy. You’re not behind. But you are hiding.
