Well I’ve never been the kind to dissect or explain what other people in the business do…
But this has been a recurring question I’ve been getting, from friends, colleagues and from my own clients…
I don't know why many of you are freaking out… lol
Ok Adam, and let’s call it that because I’m not going to say the CEO of Instagram said… ook…
The first thing he said is that people go to IG for entertainment… and you know that is a fact, because if you’re promoting your business on social… and then you have free time… to go to see stories, reels, and other long form videos like IGTV right?? So no surprise here…
Now, what this means for us that are creating content for social media, and promoting our business is that we should continue to create content with 3 E’s educate, empower and entertain…. We’re still good!!
Now the other thing Adam said is that they will start to show you more content from other people you don't follow…
This one got me very excited, because I know this is a constant complaint and struggle we’re all facing… getting our content out to have more visibility…
And this also means that for businesses and creators, more opportunities to reach new people like your potential clients I’ve been telling you beyond the network of the followers you already have, which means more space to monetize on Instagram.
Another important update is that they are deepening the insight analytics whether you’re a business or creator account.
You’ll be able to understand better the insights of your reels, and IG lives … of course the content creation is in your hands… but with these powerful analytics can give much more information to grow and continue to experiment your content promotion.
Now one of the biggest news they will be starting to roll out is the Messenger API for Instagram . As you know, IG has become an e-commerce place… if you have products you should be selling right now on IG stores.
And because IG loves brands as much as we do, they have been conducting a closed beta program. The messenger allows you to have all the communications in 1 single messenger to help you improve customer service experience, generate more leads and more conversion.
And last but not least IG will favor more videos, reels, lives, IGTV content, this does not mean you should not put images, I want you to be clear, they are simply saying they will favor more videos.
So there you have it, you summarize what’s to come for Instagram, of course, I bet that as these changes begin to roll out, you’re now getting prepared with what you should be doing.
